My research team aims to provide new insights into fundamental biological processes in protozoan parasites that may reveal novel drug targets for treating and preventing diseases caused by different families of parasites.

The model organisms that our research relies on include Leishmania, Plasmodium, and Babesia species, all causing a significant health burden, for which available treatments are limited, toxic, or lacking efficiency due to the emergence of resistant strains.
